Opening Day Shovlers

Hey hope all you had a good opening morning. AS far as us we couldn't be happier. We saw plenty of ducks and had several decoyed for us. Seen a lot of high birds going north and south. Also seen a few divers and some snow geese. We killed seven shovlers out of four groups. Had a few mallards do that old circle thing but never decoyed. All the ducks we killed we never called at. All the ducks we called at never decoyed. Don't know if the are call shy already or if it was the calle that I borrowed from my buddy cause I left mine at home(duh). We hunted the sandusky cove of Rend Lake and had ducks flying around till nine o clock. Going to hunt Kisslers neck tomorrow for some divers and maybe a few puddle ducks. I,m just so tired of fighting for ducks in the subimpoundment. Until tomorrow stay safe, have fun and keep it in the kill zone.
