More rend lake cats

Well had another great night on good ole Rend Lake caught eight nice keepers. Biggest was about four pounds, most about two. Still using raw shrimp as bait, seems to work well. Every time we ran the trot line we had about five cats, not all wer keepers to me (anything smaller than 2 pounds) so all together we caught twelve catfish and one fresh water drum. Did not really start biting until 10:30 p.m. Tried to get the trot line over deeper water, that seems to be were the bigger cats are lurking about. Kept them around twenty feet of off the rocks on 154 bridge. On another note we are going to try our luck on the Mississippi river in the later part of the month. Goint to try just south of the first dyke past where the big muddy enters the Mississippi using fresh shad if I can figure out how to through a cast net. If any body has any tips on fishing the Mississippi river, post a comment and help us all out.
